Get ready for an unforgettable evening of classical
and contemporary compositions as the Ohio Wesleyan
Chamber Orchestra takes the stage on November 14.
Under the guidance of junior concertmaster Chewy Koo
and music professor Deborah Price, this concert promises
to be a wonderful experience for all.
One of the distinctive features of the Ohio Wesleyan Chamber
Orchestra is its inclusion of a guitarist, which adds a fresh
and modern dynamic to their performance. This upcoming
concert will feature a diverse mix of music, including
student-written pieces and works from various historical
periods such as the Romantic and Modern Renaissance eras.
Price has been the orchestra's composer since autumn 2022, and has played a key role in shaping the ensemble's musical direction. Her guidance has empowered the orchestra and a vibrant atmosphere within the community.

“We’re excited to bring something new to our audience,” says Chewy. “Our orchestra’s blend of traditional and contemporary elements, combined with the creativity of our student composers, makes for a really fun experience for our audience.”
The orchestra consists of 15 talented student musicians, exemplifying Ohio Wesleyan's commitment to diverse and innovative musical expression. As they prepare for their November concert, they are also looking forward to a special December performance featuring a festive Holiday program. More details will be available as the season approaches.
“We are also looking forward to our upcoming holiday concert,” says Chewy. “It’s one of my favorite concerts we put on each year, and it is a great way to celebrate the season.”
“It’s important for us to have the support of our community. Attending our concert is a way to engage with the creative process and see how musical influences come together,” he says.
